We get many enquiries about how to use your helmet cameras for watersports, so to help you out, we have put together a brief guide as to how you can do this yourself.
Our ActionCamera 420/480/520 and 520 Low Light are all IP68 waterproof. The trick is how you waterproof your recorder, whether it is a camcorder, hard-disk or solid state recorder.
Here is our guide, as provided by Will Parish:

1) The Archos AV500 is placed in the waterproof bag lining up the buttons with the clips as in the picture. If you do not do this the waterproof bag can not be folded enough to fit inside the waterproof box.

2) Assemble the ActionCamera, battery and cables as normal and place them in the base of the waterproof box with the ActionCamera and microphone outside. At this stage also attach the Archos AV cables to the ActionCamera sytem. You will also need to carve two small grooves in the rim of the waterproof box to place the wires on. The best way to do this is to use a drill bit sideways.

| 3) Now place a piece of foam over the battery and excess wires. The Archos AV500 and waterproof bag can now be placed on top with the screen and buttons visable. As long as you placed the Archos into the case the right way and amended the AV cable the correct way it will fit snugly. |

| 4) Turn on the Archos AV500 and set it to record. Make sure you remember to lock the buttons. Now line up the ActionCamera and Microphone cables on the grooves and close the lid. It is also useful to put a small amount of Vaseline in the groove so that there is a good airtight seal. |

| 5) Now put the system into a small rucksack of some kind. Rucksacks designed to contain water bladders work well as they have a hole in the strap designed for the water tubing but used here to pass the ActionCamera and Microphone through. |
