When will the GoPro App be released?

The GoPro WiFi BacPac & Remote kit has already proved massively popular amongst action video fans, but we are still waiting to find out when the much-anticipated GoPro WiFi App will be available.

Well, having been in contact with GoPro themselves, Action Cameras have been assured that the GoPro WiFi App is due for release within 4-6 weeks!

The App is sure to enhance the already impressive capabilities of the GoPro HD Hero2 with WiFi BacPac, allowing you to use your smartphone or tablet as a WiFi remote, as well as for live streaming and viewfinding.

You will also be able to setup your smart device as a WiFi hotspot and upload videos and photos to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and more.

I note that seven weeks have passed since this story was written, and still no sign of the application.

Got my Sony Action Cam Friday and the the app actually works. Unless GoPro comes out with something unexpected, this is going to be the GoPro Killer, as many have claimed. Better picture, better low light function, smaller, and app functions great. Only needs a clamp mount to come out. (Rumor has it more accessories due in Nov). No more ride on the GoPro promise train! Yeah!!!

Hi guys, as you may have guessed by now, the App has been further delayed, but an Autumn release has been set, so the app will hopefully be with us this month. Like yourselves, we are eager to try out the app, and are confident that the time spent working on it will result in a top quality feature for the Hero2. Of course, we will keep you informed as and when we receive more news.
