Save the file to your computer. When you download this file, your browser may warn you that the file “could be harmful”. This is normal because browsers are not familiar with files that have a .AOS extension and suspect that they could be malicious. These files are not harmful to your computer.
Turn on your Archos device and connect it to your computer with the USB cable
Wait a few seconds for device detection by your computer
Copy and paste the downloaded firmware (.AOS file) to the “root” of your Archos device. In “Hard Drive” mode, put the update file directly onto the Archos icon.
Disconnect the Device.
On your Archos device, press the left side of the Menu button and scroll to the Settings icon. Click on the right side of the ‘Ok' button to enter the Settings folder.
Scroll down to “Update Firmware”. When prompted connect your Archos device back to your computer or mains power.
The upgrade process should commence. It takes approx 30 seconds.
Once completed, unplug your Archos unit from the power. The Archos unit should reboot itself. |
